Love this idea! Old tradition of educational illustration in Finnish schools become modern textile products!

I just got to know that the educational illustration board were very common in Finland from the end of 19th century. Many well-known Finnish illustrators and artists have been drawing/illustrating for educational boards.

For me it is amazing to imagine that even 100 years ago Finnish students were already surrounded by those beautifully-illustrated educational boards. What a nice way to get to know nature and plants!

Running into a series of home textile products, based on educational plant illustrations by Ebba Masalin (1873-1942). All those were originally illustrations of Finnish school teaching boards from old days! Modern designs from old tradition.
